The REAL Crafty Crabs

Every once in a while, someone asks me how we got the name "Crafty Crabs." The name is a result of three things:

  1. It sounds like the Krusty Krab and I think that's funny.
  2. Much of our profit goes to all-you-can-eat crab dinners in the summer.
  3. I have a 20 gallon tank full of hermit crabs who are definitely crafty.
If you're interested in following the real crabs who are crafty, I made them a blog here:

Project: Drink Recipe Book

Every once in a while, I'll start a project that ends up taking 5 times as long as I'd anticipated. This recipe book was one of those projects. This May, my sister turned 21, so I decided to make her a cutesy handmade recipe book as a gift.

For the book, I used this cute little photo album.

Then, I dug into my scrapbook paper arsenal to create the pages.

I used some awkward pictures to trace the pages out, since the book was made for 4 x 6 photos.

This was the part that took up all the time. I created the pages using cut paper, sticker letters, and some fancy handwriting. The most challenging part was finding recipes - I thought I knew a LOT more than I actually did! Pinterest was my savior here.

Each recipe fit perfectly :)

Note: Chocolate Cake Shots are the best.

Fun Fact: The background paper on the right came from a greeting card.

The cutest recipe was also the most lazily glued. Oops.

Aaaaaand this is where I decided that I didn't NEED to fill the whole book.
It's bad enough she's getting it a week late!

56th Annual Milford Hospital Fair

Thank you to everyone who visited us during the Milford Hospital fair this year! We had a great day and were VERY thankful that it didn't rain. I snapped a few pictures on my phone throughout the event.

Our lovely blue tent.

Lots of colorful things for sale!

Yep, that's what the sky looked like for most of the day.
Still, not a single drop of rain fell until the minute the event was over!

Also at the event: funnoodles.

Daera made this super cute ring-holder-thingy.

I thought I'd end the post with an ACTUAL crafty crab.
This is Paprika the hermit crab, covered in dirt from burrowing.

Stay posted for more frequent updates during the summer when I actually have a life again :)
